Pink Roses

Black | Blue | Green | Orange | Purple | Yellow | Newsletter

Pink roses have been around since the beginning. A natural color for this plant, pink has long been used to symbolize love and gratitude. Today pink roses range from the palest blush to shell pink, pale pink, deep pink, rose and cerise.

Pink symbolizes romance, grace and elegance in general. Roses of this color are often given while dating or used in prom corsages.

Dark pink is used to express gratitude and appreciation or a heart-felt thank you. Light pink is used for gentleness, admiration and sometimes sympathy. Pink roses often appear in wedding bouquets and in flowers sent to commemorate the birth of a baby girl. A pink bouquet makes the recipient feel special, loved and appreciated.

Pink roses have been depicted in some of the earliest examples of art. During the early days of rose cultivation, most were in various shades of pink ranging from the palest of pale to deepest crimson.

Before domestication, pink was the dominant color in the wild roses that grew all over the countryside. As rose breeding developed, pink was always included in many variations. Today we have pink represented in every form of rose known, from the old Gallicas to the most modern hybrids. Pink roses have a place in almost every garden, and are one of the most popular colors even today.

Pink Promise

– This pale pink hybrid tea rose combines many shades of the softest pinks on a beautiful, perfectly formed blossom with a high center. They release a light, fruit scent. Dark green foliage provides the perfect background to set off these beautiful 5 inch blooms. This rose has been named the Official Rose of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It grows best in full sun.

Aromatherapy

– This full pink rose has a tall center with slightly curled petals. It is very fragrant and works well in cut bouquets. The blossoms are 4 to 5 inches across when open and contain a full 30 petals. Roses have been used for centuries to make an aromatic and therapeutic essential oil, and this rose was created to pay homage to this history.

Ruffled Cloud

– This vibrant pink Floribunda blooms for months. The buds are pointed then open to 4 inch flowers full of ruffled petals. It has a nice, fresh fragrance. Like most roses, this one prefers full sun and grows to a height of 4 to 5 feet. This rose is very tolerant of inclement weather.

Baby Blanket

– This pale pink ground-cover rose is covered all season with full blossoms of the softest pink. The small blooms are 2 to 3 inches across with a generous 20 petals in each. The pink flowers are framed by dark green foliage and have a sweet fragrance.

Ballerina

– This tall shrub rose is covered by clusters of simple 5-petaled blossoms of pale pink all season long. This rose is an old variety that needs very little care to thrive. It grows equally well in full sun or part shade.

Bishop's Castle

– This old-fashioned English style rose has medium sized blooms of raspberry pink. Each blossom is filled with 120 petals each, forming the typical English cup-shaped blooms. It has a tea rose fragrance.
