And yes, our favorite flower has been around to please us for a long time...over 30 million years!
Confucius describes a rose garden in China as long ago as 551 B.C., and today, with over 150 species, countless hybrids and many others yet to be discovered, it's no wonder they play such an important part in our lives.
Roses have a long history, or to quote one very famous poet:
No one knows Through what wild centuries Roves back the Rose
......Walter De La Mare (1873-1956)
...and is there anything more stunning than the sun reflected in spring raindrops on pink petals?..........my pink Queen Elizabeth certainly competes well for "Best on the Block"!
We have the advice, the tips, the secrets and the information for you to become the "expert" you deserve to be. And think of the fun you will have...as well as having armfuls of blooms and bragging rights to the "Best on the Block"!
Try some Petal Jelly
or Hip Tea
while you sit back and enjoy your garden. Take some photographs
of your glorious blooms, pick some flowers for a centrepiece or float some of those lovely buds in a wine glass.
We can help with all this. We are adding new topics as you read!
